Section 1
Introduction
RezumeX is committed to protecting the privacy and security of every individual who uses our platform. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit our website or use our resume builder tool, and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information. It applies to all information collected through our website, web application, and any related services, communications, or transactions.
We have written this policy in plain, accessible language because we believe that privacy documents should be understandable — not designed to obscure obligations or mislead users. Every commitment stated in this policy is one we hold ourselves accountable to as a matter of both principle and practice. If you have questions about anything described here, we encourage you to contact us directly rather than making assumptions about our data practices.
By accessing or using RezumeX, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the practices described in this policy, please do not use our services. Your continued use of RezumeX after we make changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes, so we encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Section 2
Information We Collect
RezumeX is architected to minimize data collection. Because our resume builder operates entirely within your browser — with all data stored locally on your device — the categories of information we collect are intentionally narrow. We do not require account creation, and we do not request personal information beyond what is strictly necessary to deliver the service.
Resume Content
Any information you enter into the resume builder — including your name, contact details, employment history, educational background, skills, certifications, and project descriptions — is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. This data is never transmitted to our servers, never processed by our systems, and never accessible to RezumeX or any third party. It exists solely on your device and remains entirely under your control.
Usage Data
We may collect non-personally identifiable usage data to understand how users interact with our platform. This may include pages visited, features used, session duration, and general navigation patterns. This data is collected in aggregated, anonymized form and cannot be traced back to individual users. It is used exclusively to improve the performance and usability of the service.
Device & Technical Data
We may automatically collect technical information about the device and browser you use to access RezumeX. This includes browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, and general geographic region derived from IP address. This information is used for compatibility optimization and service improvement. IP addresses are not stored in identifiable form beyond the minimum period required for security logging.
Communications
If you contact us directly through a support channel, feedback form, or email, we may retain the content of those communications along with any contact information you provide. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and improve our service based on user feedback. We do not add you to marketing lists based on support interactions without your explicit opt-in.
Section 3
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect only for purposes that are directly connected to delivering, maintaining, and improving the RezumeX service. We do not use your information for advertising profiling, behavioral targeting, or any purpose that is inconsistent with the expectations a reasonable user would have when using a professional resume tool.
- Service Delivery: To provide, operate, and maintain the resume builder tool and its core features, including template rendering, PDF generation, and local data persistence.
- Service Improvement: To analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns in order to identify areas for performance optimization, usability enhancement, and feature development.
- Performance Monitoring: To detect, diagnose, and resolve technical issues, errors, and performance bottlenecks that may affect the quality of the user experience.
- Support Responses: To respond to inquiries, support requests, and feedback submissions that you initiate through our communication channels.
- Legal Compliance: To fulfill our obligations under applicable laws and regulations, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, and protect our legal rights in the event of disputes.
- Security: To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise unlawful activity that could compromise the security or integrity of our service or its users.
We do not make automated decisions about you based on profiling. We do not use your data to build advertising audiences. We do not share usage data with third-party advertisers or data brokers in any form, whether individually or in aggregated batches.
Section 4
Data Storage & Security
The security architecture of RezumeX is built on a foundational principle: data that is never transmitted cannot be intercepted in transit, and data that is never stored on our servers cannot be exposed in a server-side breach. Your resume content is processed and stored entirely within your own browser environment using the Web Storage API. At no point does this data travel across any network connection to our infrastructure.
Encryption
All communications between your browser and our web servers are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) with current industry-standard cipher suites. Our website is served exclusively over HTTPS. We do not support or permit unencrypted HTTP connections for any portion of our service. Any technical data that is collected and stored on our infrastructure is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
Limited Access
Access to any collected technical or operational data on our infrastructure is restricted to a minimal set of authorized personnel who require it to maintain and operate the service. All access is logged and subject to periodic review. No employee or contractor has access to your resume content because it is never stored on our systems.
Secure Infrastructure
Our web infrastructure is hosted on reputable, industry-standard cloud providers that maintain their own comprehensive security certifications and compliance programs, including SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and where applicable, regional data protection standards. We conduct periodic security reviews and apply security patches in accordance with best practice timelines. We maintain incident response procedures and will notify affected users promptly in the event of any security incident that affects their data.
Section 5
Data Sharing Policy
RezumeX does not sell, rent, lease, license, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for commercial purposes. This is not a policy we intend to revisit or revise as our business evolves — it is a structural commitment that reflects our view that user data is not an asset to be monetized. Our business model does not depend on data transactions, and we have no economic incentive to share your information.
Limited Third-Party Services
We may use a limited number of third-party service providers to support the operation of our infrastructure — for example, hosting providers, analytics tools operating in anonymized mode, and error monitoring services. These providers are contractually restricted from using any data they process on our behalf for their own purposes. They are permitted to process only the minimum data necessary to perform their specific service function, and they are required to handle that data in accordance with this policy and applicable data protection law.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information when required to do so by law, court order, regulatory directive, or other valid legal process. In such cases, we will disclose only the minimum information required to comply with the legal obligation and, where permitted by law, we will attempt to notify you of the request before complying. We will not voluntarily cooperate with requests from government entities that we believe to be overbroad, unlawful, or inconsistent with applicable legal standards.
Business Transfers
In the unlikely event that RezumeX undergoes a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, any user data that exists within our systems may be transferred as part of that transaction. In such an event, we will notify users prior to the transfer taking effect and will ensure that any acquiring entity is bound by privacy obligations at least as protective as those described in this policy.
Section 6
Cookies & Local Storage
RezumeX uses a minimal set of browser storage mechanisms to provide core functionality and improve the user experience. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party profiling mechanisms of any kind.
Essential Functionality
We use browser localStorage to preserve your resume data, template selections, and user interface preferences — such as your dark mode setting — between sessions. This storage occurs entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. You can clear this storage at any time through your browser's developer tools or by using the clear function within the application itself.
Analytics
We may use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand aggregate patterns of platform usage. Any analytics data collected is processed in anonymized, aggregated form. We configure analytics tools to avoid collecting personally identifiable information, to disable cross-site tracking, and to respect Do Not Track browser signals. We do not use Google Analytics or other advertising-network-connected analytics tools on our primary application.
Managing Cookies
You can control and clear browser cookies and local storage through your browser's settings. Please note that clearing localStorage will remove your saved resume data, as this is stored locally on your device. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain features of the service. Because we do not use advertising cookies, opting out of advertising cookie networks has no effect on your RezumeX experience.
Section 7
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have specific legal rights regarding your personal information. RezumeX respects these rights and has designed our systems to make exercising them as straightforward as possible. Where applicable, these rights include the following:
- Right of Access: You have the right to request a copy of any personal information we hold about you. Because resume content is stored locally on your device, you already have complete access to it at all times. For any technical data we may have collected, you may submit a request to our contact address and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
- Right to Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information from our systems. Your resume data can be deleted at any time by clearing your browser's local storage. For any other data we may hold, submit a deletion request to our contact address and we will process it promptly, subject only to data we are required by law to retain.
- Right to Modification: You have the right to correct or update any inaccurate personal information we hold about you. Your resume content can be modified directly within the application at any time. For other information, please contact us and we will make corrections as promptly as possible.
- Right to Data Portability: You have the right to receive any personal data we hold in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. We support data export from within the application itself, allowing you to download your resume content in PDF format or as structured data at any time.
- Right to Object: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information for specific purposes, including profiling or direct marketing. We do not engage in profiling or direct marketing, so this right is largely protected by our data practices rather than requiring explicit exercise.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You have the right to request that we limit the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances, such as when you contest the accuracy of the data or when the processing is unlawful but you prefer restriction to deletion.
To exercise any of the above rights, you may contact us at the address provided in the contact section of this website. We will respond to all verifiable requests within the timeframes required by applicable data protection law and will not charge a fee for reasonable requests.
Section 8
Data Retention Policy
RezumeX retains data for the minimum period necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. Because resume content is stored locally on your device and not on our servers, it persists only as long as you maintain it in your browser's storage — and it is immediately and permanently deleted when you clear your local storage or uninstall the application.
Any technical or operational data we collect — such as anonymized usage logs, security logs, or support communications — is retained for a maximum period of twelve months from the date of collection, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law. Security incident logs may be retained for up to twenty-four months where required for ongoing investigation or legal compliance purposes.
When data reaches the end of its retention period, it is permanently deleted from our systems using secure deletion methods that prevent recovery. We conduct periodic audits of our retained data to ensure compliance with our retention schedule and to identify and delete data that is no longer needed for any legitimate purpose. We do not retain data speculatively on the assumption that it might be useful in the future.
Section 9
Children's Privacy
RezumeX is designed and intended exclusively for use by adults and professionals in the workforce. Our service is not directed at, designed for, or intended to be used by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or retain personal information from children under 13 years of age.
If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without appropriate parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information from our systems. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at the address listed in the contact section of this website so that we can take appropriate action.
Users between the ages of 13 and 17 may use the service only with the express consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian. By using RezumeX, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age, or that you are between 13 and 17 and have obtained appropriate parental or guardian consent. We reserve the right to terminate access for any user we believe to be under 13 years of age.
Section 10
Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or the features of our service. When we make changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of the document. For changes that we consider material — meaning changes that significantly affect how we collect, use, or share your data — we will take additional steps to notify users, which may include placing a prominent notice on our website or sending a notification through any communication channel you have provided.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of RezumeX after we post changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes. If you disagree with the changes, you should discontinue use of the service and clear any locally stored data from your browser.
We maintain a commitment to never retroactively applying changes that diminish your privacy protections without explicit, affirmative consent. If we ever intend to use previously collected information in a materially different manner than described at the time of collection, we will request your consent before doing so. This commitment reflects our belief that trust is built through consistent, predictable behavior over time — not through policy language designed to maximize our flexibility at your expense.
